Department of Education

Requirement: Upgrading AWS environment for compliance with Essential 8 model and AWS security framework 

The project involved the migration of legacy hardware and software to an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform.  This required reconfiguring many of the existing systems.  A lift and shift approach was used, necessitating substantial modifications to existing instance types, and changes in adherence to enhanced security protocols. Additionally, a thorough assessment and realignment with both the Essential 8 model and the AWS security framework was needed to ensure compliance and robust security measures.

Transport for New South Wales

Requirement: Azure Cloud Data Migration– Minor Update
Transport NSW aimed to replicate their 54 community bus databases onto a single SQL Azure database in order to enhance their PowerBI reporting and machine learning analysis capabilities. The project involved employing Azure Data Factory service for this data replication

Requirement: Qlik Administration, Development and Support Work

Department of Employment were using Qlik to help extract business insights and drive business change. As a leading data provider with experience in this product PDG assisted with the administration, development and support of the platform. 

Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services 

Requirement: Department Strategy & Architecture Enhancement
PowerData Group helped Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability to convert an outdated, inflexible IT system architecture to an up to date, client specific solution. 

Requirement: Agile and Lean coaching 

PDG supplied catching staff and it's own experience in delivering agile/lean projects for the department clients.  A transformation effort was needed to ensure ICT delivery was inline with broader changes but internally and externally.

Requirement: Edash BI and Security Solution
PDG assisted the Department of Education in Darwin with it's rollout and development of an EDash BI Solution.  This also required that Role Based Access Controls were implmented using a centralised Active Directory structure.

Department of Defence

Requirement: Development of the AMRT (PEX) Application
PDG assisted with continuous development and enhancement of the Army Aviation Patriot Excalibur (PEX) decision support tool, now known as the Aviation Mission Readiness Tool (AMRT).  The Department of defense requested our expertise in agile project management and clear requirements gathering.

AIG's complex technical environment consisted of multiple applications encompassing both customer-facing and back-end systems.  These ensure critical automation of insurance data, assuring overall profitability of the organisation.  PDG staff were used to deliver specialised software development tasks through out the product lifecycle.

Department of Agriculture

Requirement: Data Science
The Department of Agriculture engaged PDG to support their business critical data tasks.  Source data, such as historical importation data was examine, transformed and deployed to a data warehouse for analysis and specialised report generation.

AIA approached PDG to assist with enterprise-wide Business Intelligence Administration and support of their internal systems.  Our experience and depth of knowledge in this area was seen as an ideal synergy with their business success.

LQB Financial  

Requirement: Cyber awareness training and Ransomware prevention
LQB Financial enlisted PDG assistance in a transformation initiative focused on addressing numerous security non-compliances that posed significant risks, security vulnerabilities, and escalated business costs. They sought a security solution to pinpoint  non-compliances and efficiently manage remediation, all while minimizing costs.

PDGroup assisted National Australia Bank to build several reusable ingestion pipelines for for their customer data lake.  This involved complex planning and  consultation with various subject matter experts within the organisation.

PDG assisted Medibank in the establishment of a comprehensive data governance framework.  This was needed to ensure consistency in guidelines, policies, roles, and processes within the organisation.  The result was enhanced data management effectiveness, fewer errors and more consistent results across a number of teams.

NT Government 

Requirement: Cyber Security Uplift
The Northern Territory Government enlisted PSG's assistance to spearhead a three-year Cyber Security Program of Work, aiming to synchronize the Department of Education with other government agencies in the Northern Territory.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

Requirement: Assessing alternative accommodation options


PDG assisted the National Disability Insurance Scheme with a project to access sustainability of alternative accommodation options.  These options are vital services for those needing support in their lives.  The assessment was data driven and lead to many insightful findings which are hoped with greatly improve service to all nationwide.

DG Health  

Requirement: Cyber Security Strengthening Program
PDG assisted DG Health to bolster their cyber resilience by implementing a proactive initiative of mitigation of risks.  Specifially this were associated with data security, patient safety, reputation, and financial integrity.  Additionally, these initiatives ensured adherence to hte many regulatory standards an organisation of this type are required to maintain.

Greater Western Water

Requirement: Utilities Transformation Project
PDG was an integral part of the Western Water and City West Water amalgamated project, establishing a new water utility company Greater Western Water (GWW).  GWW would go on to emerged as the primary urban water entity for the city of Melbourne.  The utility holds the responsibility for delivering water, trade waste, and sewerage services to the central business district, inner, and western suburbs.

Newcrest Mining

Requirement: SAP Migration
PDG supported Newcrest Mining in a multi-million dollar initiative, by collaborating with their internalk Business Intelligence team on projects centered around their SAP Business Objects and Data Services architecture designs.  The changes delivered greatly improved data quality and insights across the entire business process.

Oracle Corporation-Malaysia Project

Requirement:  CC&B to CCS Migration
PDG played a vital role in implementing the key Customer Cloud Service (CCS) project for Oracle Corporation.  This business transformation required close consultation with several subject matter experts and stake holders both internally and externally. 

Bureau of Meteorology 

Requirement: Testing Services
PDG collaborated with BOM on the implementation of a significant program known as ROBUST. This initiative aimed to strengthen the Bureau's ICT systems for enhanced long-term security, stability, and resilience. PDG played a vital role in overseeing vendor governance, conducting system integration testing, and facilitating user acceptance testing. Their close collaboration with engineers and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout different releases ensured the success of the project.
